The wait was seemed to be never ending but as soon as the lead, developer of Magento Allan McGregor assured about this new version many developers started to get their hands wet after a long wait of four years.
The team put great effort on this newly born, worth waiting version. After that the wait was finally ended we came to know about many of the Magento 1 vs Magento 2 points and many of the merchants started to think “Should I go to a new version or Should I stay to the old one”.

Is moving worth it?
The main question “Is it worth it?” my answer will be “Yes! It will be” because why not Magento 2 is providing a lot of benefits and advantages over Magento 1. They will support the older versions as well you don’t need to rush towards it if you are working fine with the first version but if you are thinking about not to get left behind you should start doing three actions right now!

- And at last, you have to consider talking to your solution partner and start the conversation over the question Should I go or should I stay.

Is this the right time to upgrade to Magento 2?
The second question is about time the most important aspect of our life. The answer only depends on these two points:
- What is the condition of your current site? Is it running smoothly or not
- What if your current site is using an outdated version. Is it before 1.8 CE and 1.13 EE?
If both of the answers are negative then you should have to consider and start exploring Magento Again ask your solution partner and exchange thoughts between. - The rich snippets on the catalog pages can help the search engines to look into your pages and display them as a search result. You can also improve the functionality with the use of extension. Now that’s the beauty of Magento 2 😉
What is future of Magento 2 ?
Talking about the future of Magento 2 many of the merchants and developers thought about it but let me know you 2016 is the year of Magento 2.
- The Magento 2.1 version has been released in June 2016.
- The new PaaS solution the Magento Enterprise Cloud Edition was also planned to get a release this year which is hosted by Magento.
- Magento also announced a Market Place where you can find all of the extensions for Magento 2.
As it is clear that Magento 2 is growing gradually day by day due to which it is becoming more and more popular. As it is mentioned above it have many new and good features while comparing to Magento 1. Many of the merchants are using Magento 1 now and are waiting to hear more of the announcements which will help them to take decisions.
But I am sure that you are thinking about Magento 1. Well Magento 1 is still popular and is being used by many of the store owners but it will be supported by Magento till November 2018, now that’s the time that you have to think about the question to stay or to go.

Well as I have mentioned above that year 2016 will be a great year for the merchants, for the developers and as well as for the Magento itself.
Yes! Migration to Magento 2 do take some time if you want to follow but this is the right time to start thinking about it to move which is worth it. The migration is neither painful nor smooth to go but if you consider it you will get to know about the Security that Magento 2 provides and yes last but not least Magento 2 have a better future.
